It is manufactured to meet the requirements of AS/NZS5532:2013 and features a sewn eye at each end for connection to other components. The sling is intended to be used as part of a complete system that includes a harness and shock absorbing lanyard. It is not a standalone fall arrest device and must be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

It protects the user by arresting a fall and limiting the forces transmitted to the body during a fall event. When used correctly with compatible equipment, it helps prevent serious injury or death from falls where a fall hazard exists. The sling itself does not absorb energy; it relies on connected shock absorbing devices to reduce impact forces. Proper inspection before each use is essential to ensure integrity.

It is commonly used in construction, roofing, scaffolding and general industry where work is performed at height. Typical applications include roof work as part of a roofers kit, scaffold erection and maintenance, and structural steel installation. It is suitable for anchorage points that support one person plus their tools.
