The SMART Bandage is a specialised pressure immobilisation tool used for treating snake and funnel-web spider bites. It belongs in first aid kits for workers in remote construction sites, forestry, or any outdoor industrial setting where venomous wildlife is a known hazard. As essential safety equipment, it provides a clear method for applying the necessary tension to slow the spread of venom through the lymphatic system.

Applying a pressure bandage under stress can be difficult, but this design uses a printed rectangle pictogram to guide the user. As the bandage is tightened, the rectangle transforms into a square, providing a visual signal that optimal tension has been achieved. This reduces the risk of under-tightening the wrap during a high-pressure emergency, allowing the first aider to remain focused on the patient. The woven cotton fabric features non-fraying edges for durability and can be washed after use, making it a reliable addition to a trauma response kit.

Each bandage measures 2 metres long and 10cm wide, with a total weight of approximately 120 grams. It also functions as a compression wrap for sprains, strains, and major wounds. It is recommended to carry at least two units to cover areas above and below a bite. Ideal for remote area supervisors.
