First aid officers and site medics rely on these skin cleaning wipes to prepare a patient for treatment. These wipes are essential additions to the safety equipment stored in workplace first aid kits, particularly in high-traffic environments like construction sites, workshops, or warehouses where skin abrasions and minor injuries are common occurrences.
Each wipe is designed to cleanse a localised body surface before a medical procedure or the application of a device. By using a non-woven polypropylene fabric, the wipe provides a consistent surface for scrubbing away debris and contaminants from the skin. This preparation reduces the risk of introducing further impurities into a wound, making the job of the first aider faster and more hygienic. Because they are individually packaged and portable, they can be deployed quickly at the point of injury without needing a sink or running water.
The wipes are impregnated with 1% cetrimide in an aqueous solution and measure 6cm x 8cm. These are non-sterile, single-use items with a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture.
