Description and applications
This unit is a wall mounted emergency eye and face wash system designed for immediate use during chemical exposure incidents. It features a bowl to catch runoff water and prevent slipping hazards on the floor. The system is activated by a push handle, allowing hands-free operation once engaged. Water flows gently to irrigate the eyes and face without causing further injury.
It protects workers from harmful substances such as acids, caustics, solvents and other hazardous materials that may come into contact with the eyes or face. The flushing action dilutes and removes contaminants to reduce the risk of burns or long-term damage. Immediate irrigation is critical in the first ten to fifteen seconds after exposure. The device is intended for use where hazardous liquids are handled or stored.
Common installation sites include laboratories, manufacturing plants, workshops and chemical storage facilities. It is positioned within ten seconds travel time from potential hazard zones as per safety guidelines. The unit does not require a foot treadle, making it suitable for areas with limited floor space or where foot operation is impractical. Regular weekly activation is recommended to ensure proper flow and function.
