This device is designed for controlled descent during emergencies when working at height. It includes a rope and braking mechanism stored in a durable container. The unit attaches to the side of an elevated platform for immediate access. It allows either the user or a ground-based person to manage the descent speed. The container is made from impact-resistant polyethylene with a smooth, cleanable surface. A quick-release pin on the lid enables fast setup and deployment.

The system protects against injury or entrapment during sudden platform failure or evacuation scenarios. It provides a reliable means to descend safely when normal exit routes are unavailable. By enabling controlled lowering, it reduces the risk of falls or trauma during escape. The device is intended for use by one person at a time in emergency situations only. It is not a substitute for fall arrest systems during normal work operations.

It is used on elevated work platforms such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, or similar temporary elevated work areas. Installation requires securing the unit to the platform structure following manufacturer guidelines. After deployment, the rope and descender can be repacked for reuse if undamaged. Users must consult AS/NZS 1891.4 for correct anchorage point selection and load ratings. The unit is sold as a single, ready-to-use item.
