Shipping policy
Effective date: 8 October 2026
This Shipping, Delivery and Pickup Policy explains how orders placed with Star Safety Supplies are dispatched, delivered and collected. It works together with our Terms and Conditions and our Returns and Refunds Policy. Nothing in this Policy limits rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
1. At a glance
- We deliver within Australia.
- The shipping charge for your order is shown at checkout before you pay. It depends on the service you choose and on the weight, size and destination of the order.
- Items in stock at our Carrum Downs warehouse can be delivered or, where checkout offers it, collected from the warehouse.
- Many items are not held at our warehouse and are supplied to order through our supply partners. They can still be ordered; please contact us for the lead time before you order if timing matters.
- All timeframes are estimates. If we cannot supply within a reasonable time, we will contact you with options, including a refund for goods not delivered.
2. Where we deliver
- We ordinarily deliver to addresses within Australia only. International orders are not accepted unless we agree in writing beforehand.
- Some items cannot be sent to PO Boxes, parcel lockers or certain remote locations because of their size, weight or the nature of the goods. If your address cannot be serviced, we will contact you to offer an alternative or a refund.
- Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address and a contact phone number. Costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address may be passed on at the amount the carrier charges us.
3. Where your order is dispatched from
We operate a hybrid supply model.
- Warehouse stock. Items shown as in stock at our Carrum Downs warehouse are picked and dispatched from there.
- Supplied to order. Many items we list are not held at our warehouse. They remain available to order and are either dispatched directly from a supply partner's warehouse or brought to our warehouse first and then sent to you. Lead times for these items vary by product and supply partner. Please contact us for the lead time before ordering if you need the goods by a particular date.
- One seller. Whichever warehouse dispatches your goods, your order is with Star Safety Supplies. We remain your point of contact for delivery questions, returns and warranty.
4. Dispatch and delivery times
- Orders are processed on business days after payment is confirmed.
- Any dispatch or delivery time shown on the site, at checkout, in a quote or given by our team or our website assistant is an estimate only. It depends on stock, the supply partner, the destination and the carrier network.
- For time-critical orders, please contact us before you buy so we can confirm availability and service options.
- If we cannot supply an item within the estimated or a reasonable time, we will contact you so you can choose to wait, select an alternative where one is available, or cancel that item for a refund.
5. Shipping charges
- The shipping charge is displayed at checkout before you pay. It is based on the delivery service selected and may vary with the weight, size and destination of the order.
- The shipping charge generally covers carrier freight and the reasonable handling costs of arranging delivery, such as packing and documentation.
- Any shipping offer shown at checkout applies as displayed at the time you place your order. Shipping rates and offers may change from time to time and changes do not affect orders already accepted.
- Bulky, oversize, heavy or remote deliveries. Some orders need a freight quote. Where the shipping charge collected at checkout is materially different from the actual freight cost for a bulky, oversize, heavy or remote delivery, we will contact you to approve the revised amount, choose an alternative such as pickup or a different service, or cancel for a refund. We will not charge an additional shipping amount without your approval.
- For large or project orders, our team can quote delivery in advance. Please use the quote request form or contact us.
6. Pickup from our Carrum Downs warehouse
- Pickup is available for items that are in stock at our Carrum Downs warehouse, when the pickup option is offered at checkout for your order.
- Items supplied to order through our supply partners are delivered and are not available for pickup unless we tell you otherwise.
- Please wait for our message telling you the order is ready before you come. Bring your order number and photo ID.
- If someone else is collecting for you, please tell us beforehand; they will need the order number and their own photo ID.
- Pickup address: Unit 2 & 3, 59 Lathams Road, Carrum Downs VIC 3201.
- If an order is not collected within a reasonable time after it is ready, we will contact you to arrange collection, delivery at the applicable shipping charge, or cancellation.
- You are responsible for safely loading and securing goods you collect.
7. Receiving your delivery
- Some deliveries require a signature. Please make sure someone is available to receive the goods.
- If you give authority to leave, or ask for goods to be left unattended, the goods are left at your risk once delivered to the nominated place.
- For freight deliveries to a workplace or site, safe access must be available for the delivery vehicle. Please tell us before dispatch if you need a tail-lift, hand unload, a booked time slot, a site induction or similar service. These services may affect the cost and timing and must be agreed beforehand.
- Where a carrier charges for redelivery, waiting time, a failed delivery attempt or restricted access, that charge may be passed on at the amount charged to us. Wherever practical, we will tell you before the cost is incurred.
8. Tracking and updates
- We provide tracking details where the carrier makes them available.
- For items dispatched from a supply partner's warehouse, and for bulky or multi-leg freight, tracking may be limited. Our team will help with updates by phone or email.
9. Split deliveries
To get goods to you sooner, we may send an order in more than one consignment, for example warehouse stock first and supplied-to-order items later. Where we choose to split an order, there is no extra shipping charge. If you ask us to split or stage an order after it is placed, we will quote any difference in freight and proceed only with your approval.
10. Changing an address or an order
- Before dispatch: contact us as soon as possible and we will update the details where we can.
- After dispatch: redirection may not be possible and can attract carrier fees. We will explain the options and ask for your approval before proceeding.
11. Damage, shortage or loss in transit
- Please check your goods when they arrive. If there is visible damage or a shortage, note it on the carrier's paperwork where you can and take photos of the goods and the packaging.
- Tell us promptly, ideally within 2 business days of delivery, with your order number, photos and a short description. Please keep the packaging until the matter is resolved.
- If tracking shows an order as delivered and you have not received it, contact us as soon as possible so we can raise it with the carrier.
- Where goods arrive damaged, faulty or are not what you ordered, we will provide an appropriate remedy as set out in our Returns and Refunds Policy. Your non-excludable rights are not affected by these timeframes.
12. Title and risk
- Title in the goods passes to you when we receive full cleared payment.
- Risk, consumer purchases: risk generally passes when you or your nominee take possession of the goods at the delivery address or at pickup. Risk passes earlier where you arrange your own carrier or give authority to leave.
- Risk, business purchases: where we arrange shipment for a business customer, risk passes when the goods are handed to the carrier at dispatch, to the extent permitted by law.
- After risk passes, you are responsible for safe unloading, handling and storage.
13. Transit insurance
We are not an insurer. Goods travel under the carrier's standard terms, which may include limited liability. If you require additional transit cover, please ask before dispatch so we can check what is available and its cost. If loss or damage occurs before risk passes to you, we will provide an appropriate remedy as required by law.
14. Events outside our control
Delays can be caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including carrier or supply disruptions, severe weather, industrial action and government action. We will take reasonable steps to limit the effect and keep you informed. If a delay becomes unreasonable, the options in section 4 apply.
15. Priority
If this Policy conflicts with our Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions prevail for commercial terms. This Policy does not limit rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law.
