Description and applications
The Evo-Bandage is a compression bandage made for snake bite first aid. It is 10cm wide and 9.9m long when stretched, a length chosen so that one roll can wrap an entire limb from the toes or fingers up, which is how pressure immobilisation is applied after a bite.
Printed squares act as built in guides. Lining the squares up shows when the wrap overlaps correctly, and the squares turn into rectangles or stay square as tension changes, so the person applying it can see at a glance that the pressure is neither too loose nor too tight. Instructions are printed along the length of the bandage itself.
The pressure of the bandage has been tested against the recommendations of the Australian Venom Research Unit. It is made without latex, which avoids allergic skin reactions, and it comes with 2 clips to hold the finished wrap in place. Keep one in vehicle kits, site first aid kits and remote work packs.
