The kit supplies a convoluted lid layer, a solid base pad, and two pick-and-pluck middle sections that you tailor by hand to the exact shape of each piece. Because the foam is pre-scored in a grid, you remove only the cubes needed for a snug fit around cameras, meters, hand tools or spare parts. Once configured, the insert holds everything in place during rough handling, vibration or impact, so nothing rattles, scratches or breaks. The open-cell structure also cushions sudden shocks when the pelican case is dropped or stacked on a ute tray.
