The Pelican 2780 head torch solves that by putting a focused beam exactly where you look, removing the juggle of a handheld torch and the shadows it creates when propped up on a surface.

The LED module throws a clean white spot for distance and a wide flood for close work, switched by a glove-friendly button that cycles through high, low and flashing modes. The housing sits low on the forehead so it clears hard-hat brims and confined-space hatches, while the adjustable elastic strap locks the unit in place during ladder climbs or vibration-heavy machinery. Three AAA cells power the unit, keeping weight off the neck during a full shift, and the battery door opens without tools for quick change-out in the field. An IPX4 rating means rain or wash-down spray will not kill the electronics.
