Description and applications
This device is a manually operated rope grab designed for use on 12mm diameter ropes in fall protection systems. It allows controlled movement along the rope while providing immediate locking in the event of a fall. The unit can be attached and detached from the rope without disconnecting from the harness, enabling continuous use during ascent or descent. It meets EN 353-2:2002 standards for guided type fall arresters including a flexible anchor line.
It safeguards users against sudden falls by gripping the rope instantly when a downward force is applied, arresting the fall within a short distance. The device is engineered to resist environmental factors such as dust and minor impacts, maintaining reliability in harsh conditions. Its smooth sliding action reduces user fatigue during prolonged vertical work. The permanent locking mechanism ensures no unintended disengagement occurs under load.
Commonly used in construction, maintenance, and rescue operations, it functions as both a fall arrester and a rope adjustment tool per EN 12841/A:2006. It can also serve as an anchorage device conforming to EN 795/B:2012 with a rated strength of 18 kN. The design keeps the unit secured to the harness during installation, eliminating the risk of dropping it onto the rope. Ergonomic shaping enhances comfort and maneuverability around the rope during use.
- Compatible with 12mm diameter ropes for vertical fall protection
- Locks instantly on sudden downward force to arrest falls
- Can be removed from or kept on the harness during rope installation
- Meets EN 353-2, EN 795/B:2012 and EN 12841/A:2006 standards
