Description and applications
Stratex provides these sediment filter bags constructed from durable non-woven geotextile. This specific fabric allows liquids to pass through the walls while trapping solid contaminants inside. Some versions include a specialised oil absorbent medium within the textile to address combined hydrocarbon and silt pollution. These units are engineered for efficiency, featuring a standard hose entry point with a 100mm width.
These tools are designed to handle water containing thick silt and dense debris from digging activities. By filtering out suspended solids, the bags prevent contaminated runoff from leaving the site. The flow rate is approximately 80L/m2/sec, though this may change as the bag fills with captured material. They offer a straightforward and economical way to purify water before it is released into the environment.
Commonly utilised in mining operations and building projects, these bags are sized at 1200mm x 1200mm or 2000mm x 2000mm. They are shaped to sit atop a timber pallet during the filtration process. This design ensures that once the bag is saturated with waste, a forklift can easily move the entire assembly. Custom dimensions are also available to meet specific site needs.
