Description and applications
Stratex Oil & Fuel Standard Absorbent Roll is a bonded meltblown polypropylene sheet supplied in a continuous 80 metre length. The material weighs 200 grams per square metre and features perforations along the centre line and across the width so sections can be torn off to match the job. Each roll comes either poly wrapped or packed in a dispenser carton for clean storage and quick deployment. The construction resists tearing even when completely soaked, so the sheet stays intact during retrieval.
The roll targets petroleum based liquids such as diesel, hydraulic fluid, lubricating oil and fuel oil while repelling water. This selective uptake makes it suitable for use on waterways where it will float indefinitely, as well as on hardstand, concrete or soil where hydrocarbon contamination occurs. Because the fibres are hydrophobic, the product does not become waterlogged and retains its absorption capacity in wet conditions.
Typical applications include workshop floors, refuelling bays, transport depots and spill response kits on vessels or vehicles. Users simply unroll the required length, place it over the spill and collect the saturated portion for disposal according to local regulations. The perforated design reduces waste by allowing exact sizing, and the high tensile strength permits wringing and reuse where regulations allow.
