Description and applications
This lanyard features a 2 metre length of polyester rope with an external energy absorber designed to reduce impact forces during a fall. The absorber provides a clear visual sign when it has been deployed after a sustained fall event. It comes fitted with 19mm hooks at each end for secure attachment to harnesses and anchor points. The energy absorber must be accounted for in fall distance calculations, as it can deploy up to 1.75 metres during arrest. Rope lanyards like this are suited for environments where surfaces may cause light wear and where durability is required. It is intended for use in fall arrest systems where the potential free fall distance does not exceed two metres. The product meets the requirements of AS/NZS 1891.1 – 2007 for safety performance. Each unit is sold individually and has a weight of 1.3 kilograms.
