The P2 classification indicates it meets Australian/New Zealand standards for filtering at least 94% of airborne particles. The valve opens on exhalation to improve comfort without compromising inhalation protection. It is not suitable for use in oxygen-deficient atmospheres or against gases and vapours.

Commonly used in construction, mining, manufacturing and agricultural workplaces where airborne particulates are present.
