The foam is pre-cut with a trapezoid pattern that accommodates a mirrorless or DSLR kit, including mounted lens, spare glass, flash units and smaller items such as batteries and cards. Each cavity holds its item firmly without crushing protruding controls or hood mounts. The black surface shows dust less than lighter colours and contrasts with gear for quick visual checks during pack-out. Because the insert lifts out, the case interior can be wiped clean between jobs without disturbing the foam layout.
