Swapping the latch takes minutes with basic hand tools. The moulded polymer body seats into the existing recess and the stainless steel pin drops through the hinge lugs, re-engaging the over-centre cam action that compresses the O-ring seal. The orange colour lets crew spot the latch position in low light or dust, reducing the chance of snagging gear on a half-closed catch. Because the assembly matches the original geometry, the case still meets its rated IP protection and pressure equalisation function.
