Description and applications
These are the replacement blades for the A58 auto-retracting safety knife in this range. Each blade is carbon steel in the usual utility blade outline, but with both points rounded off. The rounded corners take the sharp tip off the blade, which is why this shape is fitted to a safety knife.
The blades come ten to a tube. The tube keeps the spares together and covered in a drawer, a tool bag or a packing station, and lets one blade be taken out at a time.
Typical work is opening cartons and cutting tape, film and strapping in a warehouse, store room or workshop. A dull blade needs more force and is more likely to slip, so it is worth changing it early; with a tube next to the knife that takes a moment. Used blades go into a blade disposal container rather than a general bin.
