Description and applications
Stratex Alkali Neutralising Powder is a white granular agent with a pH of 2.2 at a concentration of ten grams per litre. The formulation is designed to absorb liquid and counteract alkaline residues in a single step. Each four-litre bottle contains enough powder to treat multiple small incidents, and the material remains stable during storage.
The product handles spills of ammonia, calcium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and similar alkaline chemicals. When applied, the powder solidifies the liquid and brings the pH toward neutral, reducing the risk of burns and corrosive damage. The reaction produces minimal vapour, but the supplier advises that users avoid inhaling any fumes generated during the process.
Operators should wear appropriate personal protective equipment before approaching the spill. The powder is scattered evenly over the affected area until the liquid is fully absorbed and the colour change indicates neutralisation. The resulting solid waste can then be collected and disposed of as non-hazardous material in accordance with local regulations.
