Stratex Oil & Fuel Absorbent Sweep

Stratex provides this specialised hydrocarbon absorbent designed to capture oil and fuel. The product consists of highly absorbent fibres that effectively trap contaminants. To ensure durability during operation, the front edge features reinforced webbing, which prevents the material from tearing while it is being pulled across a surface.

This tool is engineered to handle a variety of petroleum-based hazards, including solvents, petrol, diesel, and general oils. Because the fibres are hydrophobic, they repel water and continue to float even after they have become fully saturated with oil. This makes the sweep an essential component for managing liquid spills that do not mix with water.

It is ideally suited for outdoor environments and waterways, such as marinas, drains, lakes, and ports. After the primary bulk of a spill has been removed, this sweep is dragged across the water to eliminate the remaining oil sheen. By gliding the 30-metre length over the surface, the absorbent material captures the final slick, ensuring the water is thoroughly cleaned of hydrocarbon residues.
