Description and applications
Stratex supplies a mobile response unit built around a tough 60 litre wheeled bin that can be stationed wherever hydrocarbons are handled. Inside the bin you will find a three metre absorbent sock, two shorter socks measuring 1.2 metres each, twenty five absorbent pads, two absorbent cushions, two bags of granular absorbent, a pair of safety goggles, a pair of red PVC gloves, three contaminated waste bags, three cable ties and a set of spill response instructions. Every component is selected for oil and fuel clean up so the kit arrives ready for immediate deployment.
The absorbents are hydrophobic, meaning they soak up petrol, diesel, lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids and similar hydrocarbons while pushing water away. This selective action makes them effective on wet surfaces or in outdoor conditions where rain may be present. The granular material works on sealed floors such as concrete and asphalt as well as on unsealed ground like gravel or dirt, giving operators flexibility across different site zones. Socks can be laid around drains or machinery to stop liquid migration, while pads and cushions recover pooled product quickly.
Because the bin rolls on sturdy wheels, a single person can move the whole kit to the spill point without delay. Workers don the supplied goggles and gloves, deploy the socks to contain the spread, use pads and cushions to soak up the bulk liquid, then apply granules for final residue removal. Contaminated materials go into the labelled waste bags which are secured with the cable ties for compliant disposal. The printed instruction sheet reinforces the correct sequence so even inexperienced staff can respond effectively.
- Mobile 60 litre bin with wheels for rapid transport
- Hydrophobic absorbents target hydrocarbons only
- Granular absorbent suits sealed and unsealed surfaces
- Includes PPE, waste bags and response guide
