Description and applications
Stratex heavyweight absorbent roll is a bonded meltblown polypropylene sheet designed for hydrocarbon spills. The material weighs 380 grams per square metre and stretches forty metres in length, giving a large coverage area from a single roll. Perforations run down the centre and across the width so users can tear off exactly the size needed for each job, reducing offcuts and keeping costs down. The bonded construction holds together even when completely saturated, so the sheet will not fall apart during retrieval or disposal.
The roll targets oil, diesel, hydraulic fluid and other petroleum based liquids while repelling water, making it suitable for outdoor use where rain or wash water is present. It absorbs many times its own weight, turning a spreading slick into a solid mat that can be picked up and bagged quickly. Because the fibres are hydrophobic, the product stays buoyant and effective on water surfaces as well as on concrete or asphalt.
Typical applications include workshop floors, loading docks, refuelling stations and spill response kits. Workers lay the sheet under leaking equipment, drape it over drums during transfer, or unroll it across a contaminated pathway to stop the spread. The perforated design allows a single roll to serve both wide area coverage and small targeted patches, supporting fast clean up and compliance with environmental regulations.
